How to Draw Clothing on Manga Characters
by Kenkyuukai Manga Gihou

The purpose is to guide the reader to understand how clothing actually fits people. Understanding this will greatly improve your drawing skills. The book does not discuss a large variety dress; it sticks with one style for many pages. This is good because it gives the reader the chance to focus on basics.

The Kanji Dictionary
by Mark Spahn (Contributor), et al

I bought "The Learner's Kanji Dictionary", but I must say that this edition is much better. It is very easy to use, and I especially like the tabs (or whatever they are called) on the side of the pages. It would have been nice if the entries were written in kana istead of romanji. But overall the book is excellent and very nice! The lookup system is outstanding...

How To Draw "Manga":
Illustrating Battles

by Hikaru Hayashi

This book is one of a large series of books, and is not for beginners. It doesn't provide a step-by-step guide for drawing, and if you are a beginner I suggest searching for the first three books in the series. The guidelines and pictures provided in the book are very helpful, however. It covers many different forms of fighting, how to show a character dodging or being hit, jumping, tired or defeated characters, and an entire section devoted to fighting girls in sailor suits.
